Madeleine Aronson

Madeleine brings a multidisciplinary background in cultural anthropology and multimedia art to her work. She grew up in a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts, where she developed a love for the regions landscapes through summers spent exploring the dunes, beaches, and woods of Cape Cod. She received her BA from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and her MLA from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. During her time in New York City, Madeleine worked for various non-profit arts organizations and developed an interest in urban gardening. A lack of green space in urban life and an interest in public art inspired her to pursue landscape architecture. Prior to joining Reed Hilderbrand in 2018, she interned at Gustafson Guthrie Nichol in Seattle and was a recipient of the GSD’s Penny White Award for her research on wild mushroom economies in the Pacific Northwest. Madeleine has contributed to such projects as Forts Ferry Farm in Latham, New York; campus work at Harvard, MIT, and Cranbrook; and private residences in Massachusetts. She loves to hike and to cook with foraged ingredients.
